Cricket Update: Shane Watson says that players will do everything to restore Australia’s pride in Sydney
Australian batsmen, Shane Watson has said that Australian players will do everything in their power to restore Australia’s pride in Sydney. Australia is on the verge of losing the Ashes for the second time in two years and what could be more embarrassing
for them to see themselves losing the Ashes in their own backyard. The whole Australian team is heartbroken and some of them are still hoping for some miracle to happen in the series.
After the Perth Test, all the cricket fans were hoping that Aussies would rise in the fourth Test and saw the situation more as the Transformer’s sequel, Revenge of the fallen. The fallen (Australian team) did rise but only for a while and somehow could
not match the consistent performance of the Auto Bots (England).
Australia is now in a pretty similar situation as almost all their energies are exhausted and they have nothing to do more than to mourn their lost Ashes hopes. The fourth Test has been a mournful one for the Aussies as they were completely out played by
the English side in the first three days of the Melbourne Test. At the end of the third day’s play, Australia managed 169-6 in their second innings and they still have to make 246 runs more in order to make England bat again in the match.
Shane Watson was of the view that Australian players are devastated after their dismal performance in the Melbourne Test. It was noticed after the Perth Test that Australian players were quite pumped up and were dying to repeat their good performance in
the Melbourne Test. Even English players were showing signs of frustration and were making unnecessary comments regarding the Ashes outcome. All seemed well for the Aussies before the Melbourne Test, but again their vulnerable batting proved a thorn for them
in the Melbourne Test and cost them the Ashes series.
Shane http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 further said that Australian players will do their level best to win the 5th Test and would also try to restore some pride for the Aussies by drawing the series. But he was quick to admit that the most important task for the Aussies
was to win the Ashes urn and bring the Ashes back to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746. Australian players have struggled in the Ashes series and apart from Michael Hussey, none of their players have batted with confidence in the series. Australia did have some good patches in the
series, but overall they were not as consistent as their arch rivals were. Watson further hinted that Australia would play in Sydney to bring some joy for their fans.
