Cricket: Who am I?

I captained my country in all but 6 of my test matches, playing as a specialist batsman despite being blind in my right eye.

I made my captaincy debut in my fourth test, while I was still a student at Oxford University.

My occasional right-arm medium only brought me a single test wicket, but it was the great Colin Cowdrey.
