Cricket banned in Berlin to save vehicles

Many cricket lovers consider the step a throwback to n**i legacy. The ban has sparked anger and grief in Berlin's nascent cricketing fraternity. Andre Leslie of the German national side says, “It really shows the contempt they have for the sport. The Germans
just do not really get cricket. We have seen an improvement since the last Cricket World Cup and people have actually realised that with two billion people watching the final they better show a passing interest.”
The Berlin Cricket Club was the first one to be founded in 1850 by a group of cricket enthusiasts from England and America. Soon the German teams started visiting the other European cricketing nations.
Adolf Hitler, the Chancellor of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Germany-c2904 and leader of the National Socialist Party, banned cricket after describing it a curse. It was only after World War II and the fall of n**i Reich that cricket was allowed back in Germany.
The Berlin Cricket Club is the oldest cricket ground in Germany and the only one in Berlin.
Leslie says that to ban cricket because two cars in 60 years were damaged is illogical. Meanwhile there is news that the field may well be converted into a polo field.
