Cricket latest; Kevin Pietersen punished for speeding in Melbourne
English batsman Kevin Pietersen has been charged for speeding in a Lamborghini, while going back from a beach resort near Melbourne on Thursday.
The South African born Pietersen, who received the man of the match award in his team’s crushing victory over the Australian side in the second Ashes test in Adelaide earlier this week, was charged A$239 as a result of clocking one hundred and twenty one
kilometres per hour in a 100kph.
In the second test match in Adelaide, the right handed Pietersen joined Alastair Cook to make a 100-run partnership before posting his 17th Test century. The Kapes finished with 227, as his country declared on 620-5. All the bowlers from the English side
did well to bowl Australia out in the final day morning and thus emerged victorious in the end by single innings and seventy one runs.
The England team while commenting on the incident said that no disciplinary action would be taken against the 30-year-old Pietersen.
"Geelong highway police detected by laser a yellow Lamborghini travelling north along the Geelong Ring Road at 121kph in a 100 zone about 2:35pm on Thursday. The male driver was in his 30s and was issued with a penalty of A$239 and three demerit points.
There were no passengers in the vehicle,” a police spokesperson declared.

The English batsman who made his debut on the One Day International cricket back in 2004 versus http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 said nothing of the fine, however surely enjoyed his drive down the scenic Great Ocean Road. Pietersen said the car was given by his friend, the former
Australian spinner Shane Warne. He had already posted pictures of the local scenery on the micro blogging site Twitter, on which he has almost 115,000 followers.
"Stunning beaches on the Great Ocean Road. Gorgeous drive! Massive thanks to Lamborghini Melbourne & @warne888 for letting me play with this for a few days,” he chirped on Twitter earlier in the morning.
He will also take part in the third test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 which begins on Friday in Perth.
