Cricket news: Denying Indian batting line at their home-ground, Nathan Hauritz’s greatest challenge
Nathan Hauritz ,the Australian off-spinner, is preparing himself for the greatest defy of his cricketing career, as he will face prolific Sachin Tendulkar and his teammates at their home-grounds just two weeks later. The Kangaroos will leave for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 this
Sunday for a month-long tour.
Hauritz said that he is all set to spearhead Australian spin attack on Indian grounds. He further added that he is not at all daunted off facing Sachin and his batting colleagues in India. Hauritz had sacked the promising Test player Sachin in his Test debut
in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s tour of India back in 2004, although the visitors lost the match in the end by just 13 runs. In that particular match, the then uncapped Hauritz was substituted in for veteran Shane Warne and the expectations were quite low, but
he finished his first-ever Test match with astounding figures of 7 for 105. Hauritz said that it was the biggest test of his career. As No. 1 spin bowler, Australia must be expecting Hauritz to lead its spin department from the front negating Tendulkar, Virender
Sehwag, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/VVS-Laxman-c2772 and their batting colleagues.
During almost a month-long tour of India, Australia will take Dhoni’s men in two Test matches and three One Day Internationals. First Test between the two sides begins from the 1st of next month. Before kick-starting the tour against the national
side, the visitors will play a three-day practice match against Board President XI from 25 to 27 September.
The tour of India would be crucial for the Kangaroos from the Ashes perspective, as the two Test fixtures are going to be their last matches before winter’s Ashes series. The two-match Test series against India would provide them a practicing platform to
gear-up for tough Ashes that kicks off in Brisbane, a month after the visitors would head home.
The first Test of the two-match short series will be played in Mohali before the sides move to Bangalore to play the second and the last Test starting on October 9. Hauritz, who will turn 29 on 18 of next month, has not played since June due to a foot injury
he suffered during tour of England. Despite the foot injury he recently rehabilitated from, he has the back of skipper Ponting to remain the first choice off-spinner ahead of Steven Smith, who earned a Test cap during the tour of England earlier in June.
Smith will also be in the plane to the subcontinent this Sunday, and is expected to support Hauritz in the spin attack, if conditions turn out to be suitable. But the Australians would be expecting the senior man Hauritz to play a key-role during the trip.
Hauritz said that he has studied Tendulkar’s batting action through the last twenty years to know his game and his likes against spin. He said that he has got his individual strategies against the Indian batting line-up. He further added that if his prime
plan did not work well against the Indian guys, he has plan B and C as well to go from there. Hauritz is expecting the Indian wickets to give him a tough time because of batting-friendly tracks and very fast outfield.
"I'm going to have my individual plans against those guys and if they don't work I've definitely got plan B and plan C to go from there. It can be quite tough to bowl over there because the wickets can be very good to bat on and the outfield can be very
fast," said the determined Hauritz.
