look into getting a prepaid that also has free night and weekend nationwide calling............

check tracfone, boost mobile, movida, alltel, etc.....

If she has a cell phone, see what she is on.

Many cell plans offer free minutes to in-network callers. Like verizon.

My wife and I share a plan since I travel quite a bit. All the calls we make to each other is in-network and doesn't count against our minutes. We have the least expensive plan.
