Cricket or Politics ?????

Question

Do you think the pattern of Indian cricket should be changed so that there be less of politics in it ?

If yes, please tell what steps should be taken towards it ?

Indian Cricket also wanted to teach "Politics"(!) with cooperation, coordination, team spirit etc good values but now only Polictics is adopted by our BCCI....

Cricket should be freed from business-minded politicians.  

1) Make the following as eligibility criteria for becoming / selecting members to the board.

a) They should have played cricket at least at first class level.

b) They should not be active in politics at the time selection or during his tenure.

c) President or CEO should have a Master's degree in Business Administration.

d) Like during general elections,  all the board members should reveal their assets at the time of selection and after the term completes.

2) Selection process should be transparent.

a) The board should why a player is dropped or 'rested' or selected.

b) The board should explain why a player is retained even after repeated poor performance.

c) The board should explain why a player is not selected despite good performances in first class cricket.

d) The board should explain why one captain is reprimanded for speaking to the media, while the other can speak his heart out.

though im an india i would say one thing - politics will remain for ever in indians what ever were ever it might be - u cannot change it

It may be possible but not in India. India is plagued by corrupt people and their politicians and where they find any money or power they can't stay away from it. Think about Sarad Powar. What he has got to do with cricket? If cricket is treated as a multinational corporation and the executives are all foreign born then there may be a chance- and I like to emphasis the word chance that cricket may be free of politics. Mumbai should never be the center of indian cricket. All whealer and dealers are the outcome of Mubmai, Maharastra.

Politics is a cultural thing.  There needs to be a change in the management so that politics for coaching positions, selections and disciplinary matters are removed.  This can only come from the top.

1. The Board President should be one of the Captain who has played for India before. Selected by the Players Association.

2. The Board should be under the Sports Ministry.

3. No Politician in the Management and at any level and associations.

4., Associations to have a different state and zone teams should be headed by one of the INT. Player represented the Zone or state before elected by the players and members of the ZOne and state team ( Retiered players and current players allowed to vote).

These are the Few steps That I think Will change Indian Cricket.
