Cricketrs must be paid for their performance.Comment?

My opinion is that they are just being paid for being in the team as "icon" and showpieces!.

There must be a restriction on number of matches (,3-4),they play.They must be rested for next two.If they don't perform well in two,they must be replaced.Newcomers will get a chance early.

Players like,Shewag, Laksman and even Tendulkar to name a few, are included for their past performances.Their certainity factor is questionable.Its time others are given a chance.There are many waiting.Every match try out newcomers.

They must be paid for the number of matches the y have won,if selected. Newcomers must be played a standard fee for playing.

Money pressure may make them perform better.Cricket in India is about a lot of moolah.Let the players EARN it.

No more easy money for them!

ICC,BCCI can divert extra crores to other games and sports personel.

As you are in team that means you are capable player!! So performance doesnt matter as you are chosen to perform!!

Yes cricketers should be paid only on performance and nothing else.

But you should not say that tendulkar and sehwag are included for their past performances.They are still playing well.

Should be paid only if the performance is good, means after the match if the performance was at par then they should be paid.

Yes you are right.  There is cricketers like Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Robin Utthapa and many more who are apparently playing cricket only for money and fame.   There cricketers lack passion and love for cricket.  So these kind of cricketers should be paid according to their performance.

I accept your views 100%. We have seen the perfomances of most of icons in the IPL matches. In the recent Asia Cup Final match, a new comer routed India. There are plenty of such playes in India.They could not be given chances because of such icons.

If this were the case, there would  be a lot of poor players around the world! Some of the so called good players are performing badly of late, our own captain among them
