Crickets chirping?

At what situation do Crickets chirp at night? And what country's can you hear them?

Crickets chirp in any kind of situation, but it is only the males that chirp. When they are adults & get their wings. I would almost guess that they are pretty much everywhere except in colder climates.

If you count how many chirps in a minute, then divide 40 and then add 40, it give you the temperature.
