  1. put 1/4 of an apple in the canister for them to eat

keep in a relatively cool dark place

    they will be much happier

  2. First off – if they are dead by the next day bring them back to where you got them and ask for replacements.

But keep in mind anything used as a ‘feeder’ is not properly taken care of they are not fed and usually only given a bit of water. When you go to get them at the pet store make sure they put paper in the plastic bag (or whatever they put them in) and ask the salesperson to throw a little bit of fish flakes in the bag.

When you get home put them in a holding container with some food (any fruits or vegetables you have handy will do) and a WET sponge (you have placed into the lid of a jar or some other holding device that gives them easy access) - the poor things are thirsty and hungry. You should have more stay alive and live until you are ready to use them.

‘Google’ – feeder cricket care or feeder cricket culture and you should get some more advice that will help you keep they thriving.

DON”T forget – if they die within 24 hours – return them.

You could also ask one of the sales people when they get their deliveries of crickets and buy them on that day or the next – they will have a better chance of surviving in your care than theirs. They buy in bulk so they are cheep and they just throw away whatever dies – if they are moving – they’ll sell them.
