There are two models... Cricut Electronic Die Machine, or the Cricut Express Electronic Die machine? The Cricut express is obviously more expensive, but its features that it can make bigger letters and stuff is really appealing. I am only a high school student, and it would take me awhile to save up for it, but i really just want a cricket. I think it would help me earn higher grades for my school projects because it would look more neater and more creative. Help me ! Which one should i buy ?!

  1. Why are you sold on the Cricut Machines? /my favorite ones are quickutz. They have a great machine now called the Revolution, and are coming out with one that does larger dies called the Love Revolution is due out soon. The old way of using quickutz dies is with a quickutz sqeeze tool, and are on sale super cheap in ebay. You can also get some dies for it cheap there as well. My daughter does some of her school projects with our quickutz and she is only 11. It's a great start and way less expensive thant he cricut machines and the cricut machine accessories to do the lettering and pictures you want. A quickutz squeeze is going for about 5 dollars in ebay. The revolution is going for about 75, sometimes 60ish . The dies for these run from .99 to 100 dollars..(the 100 dollars are large alphabet sets..but they have alphabet sets i've seen go for 20 or 30 as well..usually when they are brand new they go for more at first only).

Why not try quickutz for now so you have something for school...then, as you get older and start earning more money..then go to your cricut or whatever new thing will be out by the time you save up your money. lol..by thetime you get enough, cricut will be old fashioned.

Also......your cheapest best....believe it our not..is your town library or scrapbooking store..as both of these usually have dies you can use for FREE as well as the system to cut them with, as long as you purchase your paper for them from them. The library doesn't care who's paper you use..bring your own..and loan for free..cept you gotta do it there. It could be something for you to look into if your library or local scrapbooking stores offer this service or not before you spend your own money. Some staples or other office stores also have things like these to use..sometimes..so i've heard..but i've not found more than paper punches to use so far myself.

  2.   If you can afford the higher price, buy the Cricut Expression.  It's got more features and will cut some things that the regular Cricut won't.  They are both wonderful machines.  I love mine!  You have to remember that you will have to buy cartridges in order to cut out more shapes, and they run about $60 each.  The machines do come with one cartridge but it is very basic and does just some letters and a few basic shapes.  Each cartridge has a theme and cuts out many objects.

  3. If you are going to way of a die cut machine instead of a Cricut buy a Sizzix Big Shot or Big Kick. It can cut all other dies in it. Dies from Cuttlebug (which are very affordable) Spellbinder, Quickutz and Sizzix. It can cut metal, fabric, basal wood and all thicknesses of paper. You should be able to use a coupon to buy it at JoAnn's or Micheal's

  4. If you can afford it , get the Cricut Expression  it's Amazing ;)))
