So i have to do this debate in science in which i am FOR making it compulsory for all crime suspects to give DNA samples. I was hoping that somebody could help me find websites which will help me find some information i could use about:

-A list of modern ways of finding DNA (through hair, saliva etc.)

-Past methods of solving crimes using DNA

-Current percentage of unsolved crimes in Australia

-Past " "

-Current crime rate in Australia

-Past " "

Plus anything else you think could help.

If i remember anything else i need i'll probably update this list.

Hope you can help!

  1. all crime suspects?  Suspects are people that havent even been convicted... how is that right for ppl that have been suspected of a crime that they did not commit?  Here in the US, we execute ppl and then later find out in DNA that they didnt commit the crime.  Or they sit for years and years in prison until DNA proves them completely innocent.  How is that right?  Do you know the implications of a database?  Thats like I have you arrested for slapping me, even though you didnt...you would still be a suspect of assualt and you will need to submit the entire makeup of yourself to a profile.  Which could be used for the wrong purposes and given to the wrong ppl.  I think you need to do alot more research on this before you say it should be for suspects and not just convicted persons.
