Criminal Justice research topics?

Question

Ok, I need to pick a topic for a research paper. The paper will need to be about 15 pages long, and next semester I will have to add onto the paper to make it about a 25 page long report. It can be on any aspect of criminal justice, so I need to find one that is somewhat interesting and that there is a wealth of information on so I have enough material to write a paper of that length on it.

Any ideas?

I am in the same boat only my research paper has to be between 35-40 pages all due at the end of the semester.  I am thinking of doing mine on the death penalty.  There is a tremendous amount of information on the death penalty from whether or not it is a deterrent, cost effective or not, the way death row inmates are treated ie watching a fellow inmate walk to his/her death and know they are never coming back and you are next, death row inmates are locked up for 20 some hours a day, the list goes on and on.....to keep it a little more simple research your state and start with the history to present day.  Hope that helps....good luck....and if you have any suggestions I am open for it!
