what criminal act is this and is it a felony or misdemeanor? at the big toysrus in new york city someone stays in the store after its closing time by hiding in a toy house then comes out of the toy house at midnight goes behind a counter opens a money chest full of cash and steals money from the money chest by putting it all in a bag that person had with them and the persons intent is to steal all the money from the money chest and leave the chest empty by taking all the money in it

  1. No matter which store it is, if yiu stay or enter a building with the intent to commit a crime, you've already committed the crime of burglary, a class D felony.

    Taking the money is either petty larceny (misdemeanor) or some degree of Grand Larceny (a felony - the intent is readily determinable based on his actions).

    If he damaged the money chest (?) then he's committed a misdemeanor - it could be elevated to a felony if the damage to the money chest is worth at least $200.

    lastly, this is likely fantasy because no retail concern in their right mind keeps money on the premises after hours.  You hid in the butt of that great big T-Rex for nothing.
