Criminal convictions and UK passport applications

Can a person who was born in the UK, who has criminal convictions such as gbh (and has already done time for them)still apply for a British passport?

  1. Generally birth in the UK doesn't always equal citizenship (especially if they're born after 1983 which was when the rules changed requiring those born in the UK to have at least a British parent or a parent holding Indefinate Leave to Remain).

    However if they are British there is no restriction unless they are out on parole.


  2. Yer you will be able to get a passport but weather you will get a visa for where ever you want to go is unlikely

  8. Applying for passport is not a problem for those who qualify per citizenship rules, where they can go with that is a different matter.
