I'm just beginning college right now. What should I do to prepare for a forensic psychology career - specifically criminal profiling?

Also, should I get a BA or a BS?

  1. Go to apa.org  Lots of info on psych careers.  You will also need research methodology and statistics.  Much of profiling is done using statistics, and being knowledgeable of computer technology.  Personality Theory, hence clinical psychology in graduate school, and knowedge of psychopathology.  Good luck!  (former US FED/DC; psychologist/college prof)

  2. I am doing the same thing!  I have been getting my core classes out of the way, so that I can focus on the Psychology,Criminology, Criminal Procedures and Criminalistics classes.  It might also be a good idea to look into a firearms class.  Good Luck with your studies!!
