  1. Depends on who was responsible.  If the person who busted you up doesn't have any money, you're not going to get anything.  No point in taking someone to court if they don't have any money.  But let's assume they do have money:  You could sue for (a) all medical bills related to your injuries, including ongoing treatment and physical therapy, (b) lost wages from work, (c) counseling, (d) all attorney fees and court costs, and (e) maybe some extra for pain and suffering.

  2. Since this is actually an insurance - attorney question - you would be better served asking your question in one of those categories. You will get better answers from knowledgeable people working in the criminal compensation field.

  3. Hi, I am sorry to hear about your nasty injuries x I am no expert but have been reading up because my partner was recently the victim of a nasty assault; the link to the criminal injuries compensation 'compensation calculator' is here - https://www.cica.gov.uk/portal/page?_pag... you will find their phone number on the main page too, to request a claim form or you can fill it in online but you will need lots of details inc crime ref no, hospital and doctor details and dates of appointments, also there is a 2 year time limit (from date of injury)  there is a set tariff for injuries but unfortunately you can't claim for loss of earnings unless you have been unable to work for 28 weeks or more. It may be a good idea to contact a solicitor and ask if you would be eligible for legal help, if your earnings are low, otherwise victim support can help you for free, good luck xx

  4. Assuming this is the UK check out the traiff rates for CICA at http://www.compensationni.gov.uk/CI_befo...

  5. You are talking about getting civil damages (compensation) arising from an occurrence that also resulted in a crime.  Your compensation will depend on what your medical bills and lost wages were.  There could be punitive damages and "pain and suffering" but these vary widely in case to case.

  6. The money is paid from the CICB not the guilty party, my ex claimed due to a car accident and got £2500 12 years ago, present partner had accident at work and claimed through no win to fee and got £7500 and paid £2000 leaving £5500 both took over 2 years to complete. This is in UK.
