Question:

Criminal record +travel to?

I was reciently charged with assault (canada) and i based on the statement of the person i assaulted, i was offered a conditional discharge, conditional that i completed a course !

My question is, can i travel anyplace hot with a this on my record, even tho it was discharged..... i can tell employers i dont have a record but the gov can still tell i had one......will this effect me during travel???

  1. I am assuming that you are referring to using a visa to travel overseas and/or foreign lands?

    If so, although you can get your exiting visa, you still need to check with the country you wish to enter. ( Their consulate can answer this for you). There are quite a few countries that will not allow adjudicated sentences or conditional releases depending on the charge.

    Each one is different, so it would pay to do your homework ahead of time since lack of knowledge can get you turned around at the entry port at your own expense and ruin the vacation.
