Question:

Criminology and psychological astrology ?!?!?

Today I watched an episode on criminal mind.

The unsub was a writer with amazing talent. He ,however, has alternative personalities. Basically , when he was nervous and had a panic attack , he delusively become a cold-blooded killer and see everyone as blood-thirsty wolves and saw himself as a judge that give death penalties to them. After he finished the ordeal , he would go back home , draw exactly what the " hero " did comically. Then he would simply forgot what he did after that. There are something interesting about him

- He has quite low self-esteem and quite dependent. This was indicated by his panic attacks when he tried to call his gf and she screened on him

- Panickly ran away from a book signing when his fans continuously took his photos.

- Erratic violent moods alternating with complete apathy and careless nature.

So I am just seeking yr personal opinions on what aspects you can think of to give such characteristics to a person by the informative given above.

  1. OMG so complicated!

His ego, sense of self (sun) had completely desintingrated.

He is living in the shadow now.

Very strong pluto, moon , venus dissociation. I would associate panick attacks with uranus. Moon conjunct Uranus or square totally upset the feelings.

he has gone down to his id : mars..

    hatred and crime : pluto

he hates himself...........total desintegration of the personality.

bit like people with PTSD ?

    so many things...

sorry...busy at the moment. will come back later.

PS: funny how some people have witnessed and lived the cruellest things and turned out OK at the end whilst at times the opposite happens.

He relied a lot on his g/f............not enough ego...i know that sounds harsh.

PS: ohhhh...that is too complicated for me..there must be so many reasons/aspects/ etc...

  2. Hi Ryan!

I agree with r_a73! I think the traumatic experience triggered something in his brain where he was no longer in reality. That is why he can't remember. I've heard of a chemical in the brain taking over one's logic. Interesting Ryan.

  3. Oh Ryan.........................will be back later to answer.

Well, if he had low self-esteem to begin with and was stricken with panic attacks and erratic, violent mood swings; and was a helpless witness to the violent assault and subsequent death of the one person in life that made him happy (gf), then the cold-blooded retaliation and dissociative and isolative response is not too surprising.

So what aspects and placements would be involved in this make-up of this kind of personality?  There could be a number of things involved: chart configuration, planet placements, and challenging aspects between the following:

Mars / Pluto; Mercury / Moon; Neptune / Mercury; Moon / Pluto; Mars, sun and/or moon in the 12th, Moon / Uranus; 1st/3rd qtr or balsamic moon; ruler of the 5th in the 8th or ruler of the 8th in the 5th making hard apects to moon and/or mars, sun in a cadent house, etc. Whatever the aspects and planet placements, there would be more than just one, and it would overwhelm the makeup of his natal blueprint.  I would suspect the moon's nodes would be full of squares.

I can see how this guy would be very intriguing.  He took it upon himself to serve justice, but the ruthless nature of his killing and the dissociative, delusional, artsy shy guy puts him out of the realm of heroic vigilante.

There are people who have been victims of horrendous crimes and / or have been witness to traumatic events, but they do not resort to such extreme antisocial activities and lose their sanity as a means of coping.   When there are balancing aspects and placements in the chart, the event can be turned into something that is used for a good purpose.  (eg. become a pioneer/leader for victim's rights, the Amanda alert system, etc.)

June 19, 1945:  a Gemini with a Libra moon, Cancer mercury Venus/Mars conjunction in Taurus and a Rooster,...... I wonder if he had never gone into politics if he would have become the same genocidal, mass murderer that he was, which leads to the importance of progressions and transits in a chart.  However, I think no matter what he did with his life, he would have been an insincere, master-of-disguise fake.

Hello to my friends here - thanks for the TUs even before I answered; you guys are too much. Love all of you.

  4. I agree with Janet and r_a73...in regards to examining the positions within the planets in regards to whether it is conjunction, square , opposite of another, also the signs in the planet and the houses. In order to examine this a natal chart can look at and describe personality, likely reactions and actions.

But the episode you have watched seems very captivating...i really want to watch it now because after reading what you wrote...the scenario visually plays in my mind. I like the question ;-).

  5. Can't think hard so early, plus I'm at work

but a very interesting question. Curious what others have to say

  6. Hi Ryan,

I think that this individual probably became disassociated with reality when he watched his girlfriend being attacked and murdered, so I think you'd probably be looking at both natal and transiting aspects for this. It would be my opinion that you'd probably look towards adverse natal and transiting aspects to and from Neptune, Mars, Pluto and in particular any of these objects aspecting the 8th house. That would be my guess anyhow, without the benefit of having a chart to look at.

  7. This is hypothetical, correct? I can see a complexity of aspects that might be involved.

I would say that there are predominant Neptune and Mars aspects in such a person's chart. With issues involving his girlfriend, I would think Venus and Moon would be found to have harsh aspects to other planets. First of all, I would predict that Neptune opposite Venus and Mars would be likely. Further, the Venus and Mars would probably be conjunct or in the same sign.

Since he is also a writer, he would probably have a strong Mercury placement by house, possibly the 5th or 9th. I would predict that with the issues going on with thinking he can be judge or play God, that he would have Mercury square Pluto. Since he has been successful with the writing, I would guess Mercury, Venus or Mars trine or sextile Jupiter. Since he also has great talent with writing, possibly he would have Mercury trine the harshly aspected Neptune. In addition, the Neptune is probably in square to Jupiter. Jupiter is expansion, over-indulgence and success. Neptune is illusion, creative inspiration, escapism and denial.

Looking even deeper, I also think Saturn would be square or opposition Neptune. Saturn is structure, form, discipline and reality. Neptune is imagination, glamour and escapism. When these two clash, boundaries crumble, reality becomes escapism, the structures in a person's life cease to exist.

Moon and Mars would be likely to be in hard aspect. This could make a person emotionally volatile in nature. It doesn't take much to upset a person with this placement. The problem is that the person takes everything very personally. Many writers have channeled their emotions and experiences from this placement into their writing. Tied in with Mercury placements, I can see the Moon and Mars aspects becoming a problem with his health, especially his sanity. Hysterical post traumatic amnesia is a defense mechanism.

Before I write a book here, I'm going to also suggest Pluto in hard aspect to the person's Sun. In the older astrology books, it is said that Pluto rules "the masses" or the public body. I rarely see this description anymore, and I think it's an important one. With the Sun in hard aspect, it would give a tendency for willfulness. When the pressure became greater and greater, this person would explode. This would seem out of character to what the person would normally display in public, because he would usually be self-possessed. There might also be a desire for power and authority without going through the steps of gaining such public recognition. He wants to be the person in control because he says so. That makes perfect sense to him.
