Crinkill Jewel relishing first major success
Crinkill Jewel’s ability to create upsets was seen by Crayford’s audience earlier this month. Raising many eyebrows, the white and black b***h won the John Smiths Kent St Leger, the final of which took place on Saturday, October 13, 2012.
Although K. Hutton’s charge won plenty of events earlier in the career, it was her first major success. The bookmakers showed no real respect to her in the grand finale, giving her the third highest odds of 7 to 2.
Their move looked to be a good one initially, as the b***h got crowded at the very first bend. In the cooker-pressure situation, it was very difficult to recover from an early mess, but the dashing b***h did it in style.
She enhanced her pace significantly to attain a handsome lead very quickly. After establishing dominance, she never looked back, and continued to run furiously until the finishing line. With the help of a stunning effort, she recorded a shocking 1¼-length
win.
The rest of the pack looked helpless in front of her class. Westmead Armour, who was carrying the highest odds of 2 to 1, could not match Crinkill Jewel’s skills, and failed to recover from an early crowding. As a result, the black dog ended up fourth on
the table.
Crinkill Jewel’s wonderful victory came after a lot of struggle. The daughter of Crash, out of Dixies Model, ran a few good races in defeat, ahead of winning the big battle. She strike a wonderful hat-trick in August, but since then, things had not been
going to the plan.
A mega win would have given her plenty of confidence, and the bookmakers will surely give her respect in the future contests. There are no doubts over her racing skills. Whenever she gets a clear passage, a notable place comes to her.
After such a classy win which earned her £2500, we expect the b***h to produce more goods in the coming months.
Nevertheless, Crinkill Jewel’s camp must ensure that she does not get complacent after her first mega victory. A lot more hard work is required to achieve big feats. She surely needs plenty of determination to prove that the John Smiths Kent St Leger success
was not just a stroke of luck.
