Crissalina Sak wins Girls Singles U13 title at 2012 Badminton Hutt Valley Age Group Championships

New Zealand’s Crissalina Sak proved that she is ready to take bigger challenges as she won the Girl’s Singles U13 title after crushing her lower ranked team-mate Serene Tan in the final encounter at the 2012 Badminton Hutt Valley Age Group Championships
on Sunday, August 26, in New Zealand.
The spirited Crissalina Sak, who was the top seeded player in Girl’s Singles U13 draw in the tournament, continued her winning performance in the final battle and easily tamed her rival in a one-sided way.
The top seeded Crissalina played top class badminton and also did not face even a meagre resistance from her un-seeded rival throughout the contest and she finished it up in straight games with an incredible difference on score board.
The un-seeded Serene, on the contrary, was quite helpless against the power play of her higher ranked compatriot. She could not do much of the well executed smashes of her opponent and eventually lost the match in a lopsided fashion.
Crissalina was in commanding position from the opening points of the match in the first set and remained successful in pushing her opponent on back foot without facing any problem.
The top seeded shuttler continued putting up staggering show of attacking and controlled badminton and eventually remained successful in building up a smashing lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Crissalina continued her positive and aggressive run without letting her challenger to close the gap at any stage and remained successful in taking the opening game with a stunning 21-10 score on the board.
In the following set, Serene tried to play focused game but she had no answer to the incredible speed and perfection of her rival and remained miles behind until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Crissalina continued showing her tremendous performance by keeping the pace of rallies high and also maintained her upper hand over Serene throughout the second game.
The top seed remained on track in the concluding phase of second set and she easily ended it up with a staggering 21-7 score on the board.
Crissalina won the crown in an emphatic fashion by finishing off the final encounter in a one-sided way by an incredible margin of 21-10 and 21-7.
