The Nerazzurri defender’s agent insists that they are set to talk with the club authorities about his future on Thursday, but is unsure if contract renewal is at hand.
Cristian Chivu’s representative has confirmed that they will hold talks with the club on Thursday, to discuss the future of the player at the club.
The defender is serving the last year on his contract, which is set to expire at the end of the ongoing season. Failure to reach an agreement with the club will render the defender a free agent in the summer transfer window.
The agents stated that the meeting with the club is scheduled for the week, and the player’s future at the club will be the focal point of the discussion. He insisted that he is oblivious to the Nerazzurri’s plans for the player, and has no idea if he is
going to be offered an extension or let go by the club.

“I can confirm that we will be meeting with them on Thursday. We’ll discuss http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristian-c9491’s future, but I have no idea what will happen. We’re not sure whether we will be offered a renewal or be told that they no longer want him.”
Chivu will be a lucrative take for any club if he falls on the market as a free-agent, but the agent maintained that moving away from the club is not the first priority for the player. He revealed that many clubs have approached for the defender, but they
chose to listen to Inter Milan before talking to any other club for a possible move.
Becali insisted that they are keeping their fingers crossed and waiting for the meeting, and insisted that the rest of the options will be considered in the light of the discussion with the Nerazzurri.
