Cristiano Doni denies match fixing claims – Serie B News
Atlanta http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Doni-c11553, has denied all the match-fixing claims raised against him. He mentioned that he would never commit such a shameful act as he believes in fair play. The 38-year-old was left extremely disappointed at these claims saying that
he has played cleanly throughout his career and never expected to have been insulted this way.
Doni, until this point, had quite a successful run with the Black-blues, appearing in 117 league games and netting in 36 goals. He joined the club in 2006 and has spent almost five years being loyal to the club. He hailed the officials at Stadio Atleti Azzurri
d’Italia, thanking them for their continuous support and trust. He also reserved praise for his teammates, whom he reckoned have been extremely cooperative and friendly ever since he joined the club.
The midfielder was extremely gutted at the entire situation and demanded an immediate compensation for the fingers that have been pointed at his clean career. He repeatedly denied any such claims saying that he is absolutely unaware if such a thing even
happening. Doni also took a firm stance for his teammates, saying that everyone has been quite phenomenal and they all practice hard in training so there is no way anyone would hamper the image of the entire team through a shameful act.
Some sources close to the 38-year-old mentioned, "http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sporting-89-c40576 justice and is sure they will prove he has absolutely nothing to do with
the issues under discussion."
It is believed that the midfielder placed a bet on Atlanta’s game against Piacenza, played earlier in March this year. The Black-blues won that game by a 3-0 margin which was regarded as a must win situation for Stefano Colantuono’s side in order to keep
their hopes alive for a Serie A berth in the upcoming season. Atlanta eventually went on to qualify for the Italian top Division.
An investigation team has been set up to look into this matter and if found guilty, the midfielder could face a life time ban.
