Cristobal Arreola vs. Kendrick Releford: Arreola fighting for second time in a month – Boxing news
It has been observed that a heavyweight contender who wins his bout does not look active for months. But Cristobal Arreola is going to prove it wrong.
Arreola’s last fight was against Nagy Aguilera on May 14, 2011 where he won knocked out decision against him. But just after 13 days of his last fight Arreola is coming back to the ring against Kendrick Releford on May 27 at the Reno Events Centre in Nevada.
The fight is going to be under the main event of this week’s “Friday Night Fights.”
To finalise a big fight, the fighters are supposed to sit together to settle the fight terms and conditions. Then they wait for a newsletter from a premium cable network. The fighters win a couple of fights within a year, not in a single month.
According to Arreola’s trainer, after one day of rest, Arreola went back to the gym again to prepare for his next fight.
Arreola said, “I came into training camp [for Aguilera] at 250, I didn't come in trying to lose weight. I came to camp ready to go, and the weight I dropped just fell off. I'm trying to stay in the mid-230s. That's where I need to be.”
Arreola finished his last sparring session on Monday before his departure to Reno on Wednesday. However, he is very excited and motivated to get this bout.
Talking about his back-to-back fights Arreola said, “I'm f------ in it to make fights. I love fighting all the time, there's no time for me to do anything dumb. No time to blow up in weight.”
Arreola likes to eat that is why he never faced any problem to go against heavyweight fighters. He has already commented that he knows how to lose weight required to compete Releford effectively.
The 30-year-old Arreola has been impressive throughout his career. In his 33 fights of his career, he won 31 competitive bouts including 27 wins by scoring knockouts with 2 losses and no draw.
The first loss came his way fighting against Vitali Klitschko on September 26, 2009 at the Staples Centre, in Los Angles. After that, he lost the fight against Tomasz Adamek in 2010 fighting at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in California, United States.
On the other hand his opponent Releford has not been able to show his class at perfection. He fought 38 fights of which he won 22 crowns including 10 wins by scoring knockouts and 12 losses with 2 draws to his professional career.
Hopefully, the fight between the two fighters will be interesting and a competitive one. Boxing lovers are curiously waiting to see the competitive bout.
