how do i improve in this section and do better?

  1. well, critical reading is, in large part, about vocabulary. you should read as many books as possible. also, you should prob use process of elimination-look at choices, and see if you can eliminate any. if you can eliminate even one, you should guess. also, dont pick the most obvious answers (except for the first few questions in each section, which are always the easiest). and a SAT prep book would prob help too.  

    a good strategy for the word choosing ones (gives you a sentence with a blank and tells you to choose the best word)

    is to try to get the feeling of the sentence. like if it sounds bad, or good -

    ex - "she praised him in a _____ way"

    a. angry

    b.malicous

    c. simpering

    from the praising part of the sentence, you can tell that whatever word is going to go there will have a good connotation (meaning/feeling).
