Critical thinking as a reader

How does critical thinking affect you as a reader and

writer? How can thinking critically improve your writing?

Personally when doing crictical thinking it takes me longer to finish what ever the assigment is. Thinking critically makes you seem as though you thought deeply about the topic while writing. When you are thinking critically and display it in your writing if your good at it you  tend to also make your teachers think about the topics in a way they had never thought about it.
