Criticize monistic viz-a-viz dualistic concept of man?

I love this topic.

In monistic theories of man, things are more absolute.  Everything atomatically goes back to one unifying absolute terms, such as one God, or just a ONE order.  The mind and body are both of one substance, they are both monistic.  There is no deferentiating them.  This means that spirts and the physical bodies they came from are one of the same.  It does not differentiate between the two.  This takes away from the greatness of the spirit.  As opposed to being special, its just one like any of the other.  When we die, its not that big of a transition, we were already of that same one absolute substance when we died.  So in a sense we can't die, we are already part of the one, from the begining till the end, there is no real destination, just a change of form, but we are of the same substance.  It is a very nealistic view, very depressing view, doesn't leave to much creativity.  One usually thinks of the void when thinking of monistic, where everything is made of the same thing...

dualistic is simpler then pluerism and has much more meaning applied to it then monistic.  Where the inteligence is of importance.  It is seperated from the body, the body is not alive, it is not great, the inteligence is where the substance is.  It is great .  Death has more substance to it, where its a transistion into something more beautiful/or at times soemthing horrible(h**l).  Either way, it is a complete transfer into a whole new world of different substance.  The inteligent faculties are of substance, they mean something.  they are equal opposites of the physical.

the downside to this whole dualism thing , is that reality from fantasy starts to loose its borders.  People start extrapulating to new worlds which don't exist....its easy to get a lil schizo if u know what i mean
