  1. You are doing a lot of things well.  For instance, your back is flat and you are looking ahead.  You are doing a good job of staying with your horse, but be careful that you don't get too ahead of him (this will probably correct itself when you fix your leg, which I'll explain below).  Also, your release is pretty good, but I think you can give a little more.  If your horse tends to get quick, learn an automatic release.  That way, your horse can jump his best.

However, you really need to develop your lower leg.  If you were my student, I would not have you jump anything that high because your leg is not stable enough to support you and keep you in a safe place.  First, start by moving your stirrup to the correct position on your foot.  It should be right on the ball on your foot, and diagonally placed so that it forms a right angle with your horse's side when your toe is turned out slightly.  You also need to keep your heels down so you are balanced and stable on the horse.  Now moving up your leg, you are pinching with your knee so that you lower leg slips back.  Loosen your knee and instead of pinching, grip with your theigh.  Then your lower leg will stay below you.  Trust me, I learned this the hard way.  Many horses don't like this if you kick them by accident and get very mad on the landing side.

  2. i dont know how to critique you because i've only been riding for a few months but i love your horse! sorry but i just wanted to ask what breed it is?

  3. your back is flat but that may be due to the safety vest. leg has slipped back way too much, it should be up by the girth, under your hip. Its hard to tell because the standard is in the way, but it looks as if your heel has come up, and your foot is a little too far in the stirrup(the iron should be on the ball of your foot). you're jumping ahead a little, try pushing your butt to the back of the saddle as you close your hip angle over the jump. On the positive side, your head is up and you are looking ahead to the next obstacle.

  4. It looks really good. Always keep your back flat like you were and don't let your legs slip back.

  5. Good:

I like your crest release. And how your looking up. Your back is flat.

    Bad:

But your leg position hurt your upper body position a little, throwing you forward and out of the saddle more than it should. Your leg is back to far, I can't see if your heel is down or not because the post, but it looks like it is ok.

The horse looks alert and focused. His front legs look a little saggy. Working him over gymnastics might help.

All in all, you two look great! Keep up with the good work!

  6. Your leg seems to have slipped back.  Your horse looks like he is fun to ride!  =D

  7. Lovely horse (:

I'm no expert, but I'd say your legs are maybe a little too far back?

  8. very nice

  9. Pros:

    Your back is flat.

Your looking for your next fence.

You look like you could use a little more of a release but you don't look like you are hindering him over the fence.

    Cons:

Your leg has slipped back a fair amount and you look like you are trying to compensate for the lack of a base by throwing your body forward.

Your horse looks well taken care of but is not a particular stylish jumper. His knees are nearly vertical. I would try some gymnastics and see if you can get him to snap them up better.

I like how yall look though

  10. wow u look great and ur horse.......AMAZING

the only things r u need to arch ur back up just a bit and focus on what jump ur on not the jumps coming up

  11. It looks wonderful... Just a couple little things I see...

Your leg slipped back just a tiny bit (not a huge issue)

You are just a little far forward (again, probably just the moment)

Your left hand is, maybe, 6 inches in front of your right hand (they should be fairly even)

But, overall, you look amazing! And your horse is adorable! :) What are you jumping, about 2'6"? Great job! ♥

  12. Okay... really good. Here are some small things to work on:

    1. Release

    2. Get your seat out of the saddle more and work on centering it over the saddle

    3. I don't think your leg needs to be that far back. If you move it forward a little more, it might move your seat back as well

    Good Luck!!

  13. why do you want people to 'critique' your position? theres not really anything wrong with your position, your legs are in the right place near enough, your arms and hands are good, your looking through the horses ears ahead to your next jump, overall you have a good jumping position thats what you wanted to hear right?

  14. AMAZING!!!! I wish I could do that!!

  15. Your position looks just great! And your horse is absolutely GOREGEOUS!! I only ride trail but I've never tried jumping. I have a born jumper who keeps jumping his fence when I don't want him to though... But he's great when we come across a log that's down or something. =)

  16. your leg is too far back. you just need to squeeze with your thigh and it won't happen.

  17. uuuum.Dont know wat u mean. But if u mean the best angle or watever, i'de go with the 2nd 1.
