Croatia crushes Kazakhstan in Men’s Water Polo: Preliminary Round Group A – London Olympic Games
Croatia crushed Kazakhstan in the preliminary round of Group ‘A’ Men’s Water Polo match on tenth day of the water polo events at the 2012 London Olympic Games in Water Polo Arena on Monday, August 6.
The Croatian squad faced no trouble at all in claiming victory over Kazakhstan in the 32-minute match, as they remained evidently strong for victory from the start. With their gruelling efforts, the Croatian team stifled hopes of their challenging squad
and entered the quarterfinal.
First goal of the game was scored by Sandro Sukno of Croatia, who did not waste any time and placed his team in a strong position in the initial two minutes of the match.
With her unimaginable efforts in the first quarter, Croatia accomplished four goals in the first quarter while Kazakhstan failed to show any progress on the scorecard and the round expired with a score of 4-0.
Following that, Croatian squad also came strong in the second quarter, where they scored a goal in the first two minutes of the game. Nevertheless, Kazakhstan also elevated their efforts in the second quarter where they managed to match Croatia’s single
goal effort but still suffered from a deficit of four, as the score went up to 5-1 after the first half.
The third quarter saw gruelling efforts of Croatian team that showed no mercy to their opposing team and notched up four goals. Their effort was followed by a just two-goal accomplishment from the squad of Kazakhstan and Croatia became evident for the victory,
as the score remained 9-3 after the third quarter.
The same continued in last quarter, where Croatia ascended on the scorecard by achieving three goals while Kazakhstan managed to add another goal to their tally and the game ended with a clear victory of Croatian team as the score was 12-4 after the fourth
quarter.
Niksa Dobud of Croatia scored five goals for his team and played a significant role in his team’s victory. In addition, Croatia is now scheduled to play with United States in the quarterfinal on Wednesday, August 8, where the winner will proceed to semi-final.
