Croatian Junior International: Adam Mendrek outshines Jaromir Janacek to bag Men’s Singles U19 title
Czech Republic’s Adam Mendrek defied all odds and claimed Men’s Singles U19 title after delivering a spectacular performance in the final battle against the higher ranked Jaromir Janacek at the Croatian Junior International 2012 on Sunday, October 7, in
Croatia.
The second seeded Adam, who has been getting good results at international stage for the last few months, remained on track and grabbed the title by giving a severe treatment to his higher ranked compatriot in just 29 minutes.
Adam was in his best form on court on the final day as he showed no mercy to his opponent and also managed to end up the contest in straight sets with a spectacular margin on score board.
On the other hand, Jaromir tried his best to put up good show but he was unable to face the power play of his lower ranked team-mate and eventually knelt down against him without even putting up tough contest.
In the opening set of this title match, Adam did not take much time in controlling the affairs of the game and started to dictate his challenger in all areas of the court.
Adam did not committed mistakes in the execution of his powerful shots and maintained pressure on Jaromir who failed to cope up with the growing pressure.
Until the one-minute break, it was Adam who got a strong position in the game by setting up a comfortable lead.
After the break, Adam raced away towards the end of opening half by playing in the similar aggressive fashion and remained successful in snatching the set in a remarkable fashion with a 21-10 score on the board.
The following game was a little tough when Jaromir showed his brilliance and did not let his rival to take control of rallies in the opening half.
After the mid-game interval, Adam took over the charge and started to unleash his impressive smashes and eventually finished off the second game in a decent way by a comfortable score of 21-15.
Adam won the title match against Jaromir in just 29 minutes with an amazing 21-10 and 21-15 margin on the board.
