Question:

Croatian and Italian??

I am Croatian and I just found out that yesterday I'm a little but Italian. I started doing my family tree and the farthest person I got to was my great-great-great-great grandfather. On the weekend my father is going to show this family tree he has. I'm trying to find out more about my ancestors and since they were all from Croatia and never left the country and never spoke English, it is very hard for me to figure out more without the help from my parents and grandparents. Is there a website or book or something that could help me dig deeper into my family tree?

  1. The LDS site:

Note that this website has little proof. Also don't forget it is better to have proof to back up your findings. You say that ancestry doesn't help. I am going to the library tomorow and most librarys have ancestry library edition. It is almost the same as subscribing to ancestry. So if you can plan a trip to the libarary. I found it easier to trace my dad's side. Don't forget that you are also able to add sisters and brothers and other people to your ancestry profile, for free.
