Question:

Crochet Pattern question

I'm making my very first "easy baby sweater". I have completed the back. The pattern says to continue to the front by making 4 chains and continue to double crochet in each of the 4 chains. It says to make the front the same size as the back. The pictures show a back, 2 fronts & 2 sleeves. What am I missing? Should I just make 2 separate fronts and attach? If I do make separate fronts, should I make them half the size of the back? May sound dumb, but I'm trying.

  1.     I am assuming that you are making a cardigan sweater, which has two front pieces that meet in the middle.  When it says to make them the same size as the back. they mean top to bottom, not side to side.  This is hard to say witout seeing the pattern, but that's my guess.

  2. No...your question does not sound dumb.  Where did you get the pattern?  It sounds to me like a sweater that was shown on The Carol Duvall Show at one time.  That was made from 5 separate pieces then sewn together to make the sweater.  You could try to make 2 separate fronts.  Just make each one half the size of the back ( side to side ) but keeping the same length as the back and attach.
