I'm having difficulty moving from row 2 to 3.

Row 2: ch1, sc in first 2 sc, * ch 2, skip next 2 sc, sc in next 2 sc; rep from across, turn

Row 3: ch 3, *4dc in next ch-2 sp; rep from * to last 2 sc; skip next sc, dc in last sc; turn

Does this mean 4 double crochet in EACH crochet from row 2?

  1. At the end of row 2 , you should have a bunch of small loops or spaces all the way across the row ( from the "chain 2" spaces). So you start off row 3 by chaining 3, then work 4 double crochet stitches right in those loops. Then you repeat all the way across until the last few stitches.

  2. Do not crochet in the single crochets. You need to do 4 double crochets in each chain 2 space.  The only sc you'll dc in is the last sc.  Hope this helps.

  3. shorty is wrong. no where in the directions does it say to ch 2 after the 4 dc. Just put 4dc in the open spaces left by the chains in the previous row. Those 4 dc will replace the 2 sc and the 2 chains from row 2 so that you have the same amount of stitches in each row.

  4. It means that you will have 4dc in each of the ch 2 of row 2.

4dc in the first ch-2 space, ch-2 then 4dc in the next ch-2 of row 2 and continue to the instructions following the second *.
