Crocheting this hat...?

Single crochet for 3, then decrease by combining the next two stitches.  You do that by starting a single crochet in stitch one, so bring the yarn through once, and you have two loops on the hook.  Instead of pulling the yarn through those two loops, do the first half of a single crochet into stitch two.  Then you'll have three loops on the hook.  Pull yarn through those 3 loops, and you have decreased two stitches into one.
