Crosby or ovexchin who is better over the years and to they retire?

I'm going to look past the way you misspelled Ovechkin's last name and tell you - neither one of them has played long enough for anybody to consider comparing them. They both have totally different techniques, so it's like comparing apples to oranges.

well its hard comparing crosby and ovechkin because one is a leader in assists one is a leader in goals  and they both are fast but ovechkin is faster stronger and just a better team leader so over the years ovechkin for sure

They have different styles and roles.

Crosby right now is gonna be the better player at least now in that he is a better playmaker. He will likely have more points himself and contribute to more team scoring.

Ovechkin is a Goalscorer and a prolific one. I would argue though, that if Ovechkin has a good team around him look out. Other teams have to and will have to pay so much attention to him that his assist numbers will go thru the roof.

Crosby...alot of teams would take a playmaker who makes everyone around him better than a goal scorer...whos better at the end of it all will depened who they play with...Ovi is in Washington till the end oviously and Crosby probley will stay in Pittsburgh but imagine a trade that sent someone like Rick Nash to Pittsburgh...Crosby would start getting alot more assists or like if Eric Stall went to Washington Ovi would score more goals...who knows this summer their cars could collide and they could both be done?

I mean these guys go pretty back and forth so there is absolutely no way i can say who will be better when they retire.  All around I take Ovechkin because he's great defensively and hits like a hammer.  But Crosby is an absolutely amazing and falls short by less than a hair of Ovechkin.
