Cross Country Biking?? please hellppppp?

i plan on riding my bicycle from janesville, wisconsin to elseberry missouri... approx 350 miles....but i heard it is illegal to ride a bicycle on the side of the highway.. how else can i get where i need to go? and how do i find out the roads and what not?

  1. it is illegal to ride on the side of a freeway. I am almost certain the highway is OK. You will need to map out roads that go to the places you need to go that are legal to ride on. You might have to go farther this way as taking interstates. If you go to a mapping service, you should be able to avoid highways, freeways, or choose how you will be traveling. Google maps has a option for walking.
