I have my first ever cross-country meet tomorrow and I’m kind of nervous. I know it is just a scrimmage but I would still like advice. Any tips or hints? I don’t want to s***w up too much, even if it doesn’t count.

  1. eat a peanut butter banana sandwich for lunch and during the race find a person that u want to keep up with until the end where u should sprint to beat the person

  2. i run cross country 2!!!! the trick is in ur pace.....start out fast for about the 1st 100 or 200 meters. try 2 separate urself from the pack. after the beginning settle into ur pace (whatever that may be) not 2 fast, but not 2 slow. don't wear urself out at the beginning!!!!! once u get 2 about a mile, kick up ur pace a little & start passing people. when u start nearing the finish line, really turn it on. sprint 2 the end & try 2 pass as many people as possible. 2 many people start dying at the end & don't sprint. don't be 1 of them!!!!!!! eat ur carbs the night be4. don't drink 2 much water be4 the race. make sure ur stretched out really good. then run!!!!!

    anyway......good luck!!!!!!! =]] u'll do great!!!!

  3. eat spaggeti for dinner tonight, it has tons of carbs. then, eat two hours before you have to run. i recommend a cereal that is high in carbs and fruit. you can drink either a fruit juice or water. don't drink a lot right before you run.

start out slower and build your speed. if you start fast, your speed will decrease and you won't be able to keep going.

when people pass you, try to keep up with him (as long as you can keep up with their pace -- if you have doubts, go your own pace).  also keep your breathing slow, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. DON'T take quick breathes because you'll end up with a cramp or side stitch.

    good luck!

  4. im in cross-country to u shud eat pizza or spagety the day befor i like goin fast then slow then fast to finish

dont give up even if u goin to die keep on goin

hey good luck at ur meet

  5. This is my third year in Cross Country. It's pretty easy. Just pace yourself. It don't count so just go into it and see how it feels. The Starting Box is the most nerve-wrecking part of the race but after that and once you go for 100-200 meters it'll be easy and at the end about 100 meters away, SPRINT!!!! You might be able to pass a few people there. Glad to help.

  6. Eat food you know won't upset your stomach and have a good amount of protein or carbs. Drink lots of water, save the Gatorade for after the race. Take the race easy and try to increase in speed .

  7. Go out slow. If you go out too fast ( like everyone does) you're done

If you go out slower, you can still make a move
