  1. I used to have the same problem.

One day I told myself I am going to run the whole time no matter how tired I get. And after two or three days of this I ran the whole time I was supposed to be running.

What also helps/helped me was saying Ill stop and walk once I get to (I made a visual point where I planned to stop) then once I would get there I would think no i can still make it to (new point) and I would keep doing this until I got to the end.

I eventually took 4.5 mins off my 5k time

  2. Practice, practice, practice.  Pace yourself.

  3. i was new to XC in middle school because it was my first sport ever... so i was horrible =] but i got better because i practiced like everyday... what i did wrong was in the beginning i tried to stay with the really fast ppl and i didnt pace myself... u really have to pace urself and forget about how fast ppl are going and whos ahead of u. u have to run everyday or atleast try to. workout on ur endurance and Dont stop running! once u get to where u want to be u will feel so accomplished and u will begin to love the sport.. Good Luck =]

  4. I know what you mean. When I first started running with the team it was like that. After awhile you become stronger and you build up strength to stick with their pace. Everyone has their own pace. I would say, try sticking with their pace but not too hard. Like if they're running faster than your pace, try to stick with them. You will know if the pace is too fast for you or just right. If you feel like it's too fast then try to go at your pace but just a little faster. I'm sure over time you will build up your strenghth and before you know it you'll be running right beside them. Just keep practicing.

  5. if your cross country team doesnt start til school than i would say tht you might want to try summer training so tht you wil b in shape wen cross starts

  6. yes

    stop running and there

    prob solved!!

  7. on your own time you should do a little amount of running pacing yourself and also gradually building up the time. and sit ups... crunches really help

  8. everyone runs at their own pace.  you may be out of breath trying to keep up with the pack....which is good sometimes because it helps to push you to go faster.  if you run at your own pace and push your self not too much your endurance will definitely increase.
