Cross country? how to train nd faster?

okay so i am goin 2 b in cross country next year, so is my best friend. she is relly fast nd i really want 2 beat her. how do i train nd get faster? any suggestions? thanx!!!!

  1. Get your mileage up but don't do that to fast, you don't want to get hurt. Than add some mid distance workouts in as well such as repeat 800 meters and repeat 500 meters. On occasion maybe once a week after you get done with a distance workout do 2 or 3 repeat 400s to practice your finish. It wouldn't hurt to train with your friend either so that way you will know where she is at with her running. Good luck.


  2. First you need to try to go as far as you can without stopping then you can piching up the pace and pushing yourself to go further

  3. well dont over do it in the beginning...first go for a run maybe 3 times a week..build up over the weeks...go for more runs and slowly make them a little bit longer...also you should work on sprints. i always thought,being a long distance runner i would never need to practice them...but unfortunetly, they are very important..

    Maybe call up your friend and ask her to go for a run with u...u can see how good she is and learn from her...
