  1. I am a very experienced CC and Track runner. I think you should do both. And it is proven that if you play more school sports, your more focused and disciplined. If you could only choose one, I'd choose Cross Country since it gets you more in shape and if your good, a WAY better chance of scholarships!

  2. why cant u do both? usually people that do xc do track...and track is even easier once u have cross country up the belt

  3. Do Both!

Cross Country like you said is in the fall, and its good training for track. Plus, the people who are usually on the team are very family-oriented, and very friendly (track gets pretty hostile because its so competitive.) Cross Country is also very relaxing, practices usuallly consist of long distance runs, at a pretty moderate pace. It's just the races that'll kill ya. JK =) I love Cross Country, even though I am a better sprinter!

THen you'll have the whole winter season to train by yourself, and get ready for the faster sprinting, but you'll already be in shape, all you have to do is kinda switch your focus to speed instead of endurance.

Then you'll have lots of fun in track, and really learn what competitive running is!

    Good luck!

  4. Do track, many people WISH!! to be fast and you are already that if you do cross crountry your only gunna get used to running at a decent pace.

  5. i did both, and i love cross country.  It was a way more family oriented group of people and we had a ton of fun.  Plus  it's a little more of a challenge.  On the other hand, my track team won states and I took home a gold medal, so track was cool too.  If you don't think you can handle both, I'd say track because you are iffy about distance.  But cross country is awsome and if you have a good coach they will train you until you are good at distance, so give it a thought.

  6. well, if i were you i would do both, expecially because u are fast.  but if u want to do one, it depends on what u would prefer. if u are ready for a hardcore training and tons of running, go for cross country. if u want to improve more i would do track.

  7. I do both. My main sport is track, with the 400s, 800s, maybe the 200. But I did cross country to increase my stamina and endurance. Plus it keeps you in good shape if the track season hasn't started yet.
