I have heard the turnpike is boring and has very little shoulder - is that true?

  1. Hey if you want exciting by all means I-80  but it has A LOT of traffic, I would go with the Turnpike the shoulder size varies from place to place.

  2. The Turnpike has some tunnels which are cool to go through and you pass some windmills. You do have to pay a hefty toll. Like $20 to go across the whole state. There are easy access service plazas with restaurants (with starbucks) and clean bathrooms. You go through real towns if you need to stop somewhere

I80 is free but is a bit more isolated and remote for most of it. No service plazas so you have to stop at truck stops and the like. A bit more chancy. some exits have no services.

Personally I like the turnpike but that is also because it is more convenient to where he live.

  3. I-80. The turnpike is frequently visited by insane amounts of traffic, and it's VERY cop-prone, if you know what I mean.
