Crossing a river?

I'm given a problem where a boat is set to cross a river. The current is going in the -> direction and the boat crosses with speed = 103.1 m/s at an angle of 99.7 degrees and lands directly across its initial from its starting position.

How fast is the current?

  1. It might be an airplane but not a boat. 103.1 m/s is almost 225 mi/h.

  2. do you mean air current? at that speed wouldn't you be flying?

sorry, i was thinking miles/second (i've got to remember the metric)  and i need to take math classes
