If I'm under 18 and I have a passport, do I need to have a parent with me to leave the US and go into Canada? (I'll be over 16, but under 18)

  1. You can get away with it, I crossed at age 17 on new years once

Depending on what state you cross into though, you may want to check laws if you are travelling with a non relative of the opposite s*x, some states have laws about that...

  2. No, but you do need a letter of permission to travel to Canada alone...signed by both parents and notarized.

  3. Further to "Charlie"s correct answer, make sure you included a phone number your folks can be reached at as well in case the customs people choose to get ahold of them.
