Question:

Crossing the line between Customer and Romantic Interest?

I'm asking this because I'm having a debate with my brother on this topic... right now. I guess I'm looking for a male perspective.

Say you are an owner/supervisor of a small business... would you say "yes" to a female customer who asked you out for a drink, meet your friends, invite her to your house for a little while if you were not interested at all?

I find of all those actions somewhat involving an interest on his part. He must like the girl enough to show her what he is all about.

Any thoughts?

  1. most guys don't get asked out - ever - so if someone does... how can they say no...

  2. I would say No, unless it's a very regular customer and you know her well.

In this crazy world you have to be very careful whom you date, invite for the drink and especially home.

I guess I am on the more conservative side. My answer is No. LOL

  3. Well, at least a certain part of him likes her enough.  Guys will do whatever it takes if they think they have a chance to get laid.

  4. When women are brave enough to ask, I generally accept unless there is an overwhelming reason not to.  I always wait for women to initiate things, rather than me approaching them, so if I never accepted, I'd be alone forever.  If I feel there is no possibility of serious involvement, I let her know that up front, so as not to lead her on.  We can still spend time together and enjoy ourselves.  However, this is all MY perspective, not male perspective.

A typical male would probably think she's easy, and go along just to jump her, pump her and dump her first chance he got.  Or, he could be interested in something more serious and long-term.  He could initially be interested but later change his mind.  Overall, I'd say that if he accepted, he probably WAS interested in SOMETHING, I'm just not sure what.  Then again, he could have actually been like me and just gone out for something to do to alleviate boredom or to respect her.  It's too difficult to say for certain without knowing the individual(s).

Hope I didn't ramble too much.
