  1. standard lead crosman hollow points work better than the silver eagles. the SE are too light and is better for a low power air gun, best in a CO2 gun. the cphp's are one of the most accurate hunting pellets out there. it's not the best but is good for its quality and price.

make sure it's the crosman premier hollow points that you buy.http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/pellet... if you want a good expanding hollow point, try beeman crow magnums.  http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/pellet... where i come from, these will knock elephants out of the trees.

    CROSMAN DESTROYERS http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/pellet...

are copies of the gamo tomahawks.http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/pellet...

they both suck. they don't expand much.

    jsb predators are better.http://www.pyramydair.com/cgi-bin/zoomed...

for the most penatration, it is the gamo rockets. if you have a powerful 1000+ fps rifle and like shooting airguns through steel barrels then the gamo rockets is pellet.

  2. Hollow points do not expand in flight.  IF they did they wouldn't go very far since the resistance on them would stop them or make them inaccurate.  Hollow points are supposed to open up on impact of soft tissue so they deliver all the energy to the animal being shot while making a large wound channel to help it bleed out and cause trauma that will likely kill the animal.

I have no first hand knowledge of the crossman destroyer pellet. But from what i have read they seem like a good pellet in that the pointed tip would help it penetrate tough skin and at the same time be pushed back opening the pellet up so that it much larger creating a larger wound channel and transferring all of its energy.

  3. Well, any hollow point expands in flight (like a banana peel) which causes a bigger penetration entry wound. The regular hollow points by Crossman do work very well. I have shot these and they go straight through and 2x4 slab of wood, as well as, squirrels, birds, and rabbits.
