Question:

Crossover office fonts look bad in Picasa on OS X?

I am using Crossover office on OS X and when using Google Picasa the fonts in the left side folder panel are hard to read an very jaggered. When I use it under Wine the fonts look fine, however I prefer using Crossover office as it is a much nice product to use (less windows everywhere). I have tried installing the core fonts into the bottle but this still has not worked for me.

Cheers.

  1. If they are looking jagged  it is becasue that is the way it is rendering Micrsofts horrible Bitmap Fonts. Why don't you use iWork08 which should be in your applications folder or use OpenOffice?

What are you trying to do in Picasa?

As for Crossover - personally I use Parallels which is MUCH better, or you could use VMware which is excellent or Apple's own Bootcamp which allows you to use OS X or Windows. VMware or Parallels allow you to run OS X and Windows together and don't seem to have any font issues although Apple uses Truetype fonts which are much nicer to look at where as MS uses ugly Bitmap fonts  - the two are not compatible.
