1st--dunno.

2nd--chord.  Wait...you sure it's a T?  Trill?

3nd--energize

4th--Oddly enough, hot-to-trot fits, but doesn't really fit the definition.  It's probably just me.  Sorry, no it doesn't.  Not with the L.

5th--ase.  Well, sugars are carbohydrates and sugars end in -ose, so I could be wrong.

For the first I'm thinking diadem, tiara, wreath--something along those lines but they don't fit.  Singlet is a good one I hadn't thought of--just commenting on other answers.

Ill at ease is right?  Darn.  I liked hot to trot.  You never see that in puzzles.

That took me a while. I was thinking something bulletproof for some reason.

Second: TRILL

Fourth: ILL-AT-EASE

I think the t's probably a typo.
