Stoke City’s towering striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741 is hopeful over the fact that he will be recalled to play for England, in the upcoming Euro 2012 competition.
Crouch’s last appearance for England, came against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 back in November 2010 in which he scored his side’s lone goal in a 2-1 defeat.
The 31 year old lanky striker scored a breathtaking goal against Manchester City on Saturday in a Premier League match, which has already been termed by many as one of the goals of the season.
In total, the six foot seven inch player has played 42 matches for England and has scored 22 international goals. He said that he was looking for an opportunity to represent England in the European competition, in the summer.
"There is huge competition in the summer. I have been fortunate enough to play in two World Cups and 42 times for my country," he said.
"I know if I am working hard and playing well I will get a chance and hopefully I will grab it with both hands."
Crouch was part of the English team which took part in the 2006 World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Trinidad-and-Tobago-c3024
in the next game which http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 but failed to score in those matches.
He was also England’s highest goal scorer with 5 goals in the 2008 Euro qualifying campaign, but his efforts proved to end in vain as England failed to make it into finals.

Crouch, who has also played for Tottenham Hotspur and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, moved to Stoke City in August 2011 and since then, he has scored 12 goals in 33 appearances for the Potters. The player, who scored a wonder goal against Manchester City in his previous match,
said that he always believed that he could make it into the International side by coming up with impressive performances for Stoke.
"I knew right from the start when I signed for Stoke that, if I was playing well and scoring goals, I would have a chance of being involved in the England set-up.” He said.
He also described his goal against Manchester City as the best one that he has ever scored.
