Stoke City’s lanky striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741 let out his aim of securing a place in the English national team sometime in the future, despite failing to grab a berth in the Euro 2012 squad.
The national team's manager, Roy Hodgson overlooked the Potters player while picking his 23-man crew for the European Championships in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ukraine-c3032. Instead, the manager opted to go with the 23-year old Andy Carroll, in view of the striker’s scintillating
form late on in the previous season.
Crouch featured for the Three Lions during the 2006 and 2010 World Cups. In total, he has capped 42 international appearances for his country and netted 22 goals during this period.
The six feet seven inches forward underwent a successful season with the Potters, after arriving at the Britannia Stadium on 31st of August from Tottenham Hotspur.
After spearheading the Stoke offence, Crouch was confident of reclaiming his place in the national team, and claimed that his impressive form off late was an indication of the fact that he has still got a lot to offer to his country.
While talking to reporters, he said: “I’ve got 42 caps and enjoyed every single minute being involved. So if I’m playing well enough for Stoke, I don’t see why I can’t get back in. I will never write it off.”
However, the 31-year old confessed that he was gutted after being left out from the Euros squad, but indicated that he was able to get over the disappointment during the summer break.
“Obviously I was disappointed because at the end of the season I felt I had done really well and had got a chance.”
