Question:

Crow in a Trunk?

a close relative had a strange dream about me involving a crow.

from what she remembers,

I went outside to look for my car, having found it, I opened the trunk and found this crow staring at me.

for some reason, I started petting it and its head lovingly stroked my hand.

Can anyone try to interpret this seemingly bleak dream?

  1. Are you suffering from an illness or had other misfortune recently?  Because, normally, a crow is not considered a symbol that something good is happening to you.  (I'm not saying this is a premonition, but rather that you are experiencing hard times for some reason).

The car represents you, your life.  You are carrying this crow or problem with you.  You'd expect someone to be surprised or shocked or afraid upon finding a crow in their trunk, but you start petting it and it returns your affection.

My sister had a similar dream about me a few years ago.  She dreamed we were at the zoo and there was some strange, snakelike creature that wrapped itself around me and was panicking, squeezing me in a dangerous manner.  Everyone was panicking and screaming to "get that thing off her!"

However, I had a different reaction.  I started petting the creature, holding it my arms and crooning to it, as if comforting a baby  The creature started to calm and relaxed its hold on me.  I was able to escape death because I chose to comfort rather than to fight.  Had I fought, it would have squeezed me to death in its panic.

I was dealing with an illness at the time (and still am).  For awhile I had fought it and been in denial, but over time, I learned that if I "took care of" my illness, acknowledging it and meeting the needs it presented, I could keep it more  under control.  Stress made it worse.  Not "claiming it" made it worse. I had to embrace it and let it have its way.  When I needed rest, I rested.  I learned what nutrition and treatments were good for me and started adding these things to my diet and routine.  Even now, when I embrace my illness, I have more energy, feel better, and am more productive.  When I try to fight it, and deny it, I wear myself out and end up sicker, tireder and more depressed.  I have to ignore what other people try to make me do (be a morning person, make big commitments, etc.) and listen to my own body and emotions and I fare MUCH better.

This crow, whatever it represents, is in YOUR car... YOUR life.  Perhaps you have already learned that the proper response to it is to take care of it, or perhaps your relative had this dream as a message intended for you.

Pray for wisdom.  Denial does not lead to release.  Take care of yourself and your needs.

    God bless you.
